Z’en Japanese Cuisine opens its tranquil and elegant restaurant to people who are looking for traditional Japanese and fusion cuisines at a single venue. The dishes there range from the familiar Japanese hot pot, miso soup, sushi, sashimi, donburi and tempura to the innovative asparagus with bleu cheese, tori kousou yaki and crab cream croquette.

Highlights:

High quality a-la carte buffet: Consisting of shabu shabu and regular items, Z’en Japanese Cuisine’s menu offers both quantity and quality. Shabu shabu, sashimi, sushi, grilled squid, yakitori, and sirloin steak are just a few names among more than 60 buffet items. Unlike some other shabu shabu buffet places that have the time limit of from 80 to 120 minutes, Z’en enables diners to start as early as 18:00 until 22:30.
Tempting sirloin steak: A 200g-slab of sirloin steak is char-grilled to medium-rare and then chopped into slices. The steak is moist at its best and the succulence is even enhanced by the flavourful ponzu sauce. Z’en’s sirloin steak is truly a highlight in the restaurant’s a-la carte buffet menu!
Newly introduced fusion food items: Ever heard of grilled asparagus with bleu cheese being served in a Japanese restaurant before? How about that roasted chicken filled with herbs and then wrapped in bamboo leaves? While cooked Asian style, the recipes share some resemblance with Western cuisines, which will enrich our experience there.

Menu
The menu at Z’en Japanese Cuisine is expansive. There are menus dedicated to lunch, dinner, and buffet. More importantly, the bento offerings (S$22-S$38) are particularly attractive, each bento is complete with soup, greens, mains, and an ice cream dessert, which kids might also enjoy. A variety of beverages, including wines and draft beers, are available to complement the foods.

Ambiance
As the name itself suggests, Z’en Japanese Cuisine does try to provide a safe haven for its customers. Installed in both indoor and outdoor seating areas, the lanterns and modern lighting fixtures give off a laid-back feeling to the already tranquil atmosphere. This restaurant is a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle vibe of UE Square.
