Answer for What are the things tourists should not do in Singapore?

Singapore has a reputation of being strict with its laws. Here are a few very important things to keep in mind to avoid paying a hefty fine or serving prison time while in Singapore.

  1. Don’t litter. This is a common practice that everybody should follow anywhere around the world especially when traveling to other countries. In Singapore, there are strict laws when it comes to public tidiness. The fine could go up to S$1,000 plus community service if you are caught dropping your trash or spitting on the street.
  2. Don’t chew gum. It is illegal to buy or import gum in Singapore. And if you can’t buy it, you can’t chew it. If you are caught chewing gum and dropping it on the street, you will be fined S$500. However, those with prescription for medical gum are exempted from this law.
  3. Don’t drink or eat on the MRT. Aside from littering and chewing gum, Rapid Transit Systems Regulations also prohibits the consumption of food and drinks anywhere within the railway premises. Singaporeans do not like it if you spill your food or drink on the train or on a fellow passenger. You will be fined S$500 if you get caught.
  4. Don’t smoke in public. A lot of countries have strict anti-smoking laws and Singapore is definitely one of them. You can smoke only at the designated areas which are usually marked with yellow paint and isolated from the public. Offenders will be fined up to S$1,000.
  5. Don’t connect to unsecured Wifi. This is a crime in Singapore under the Computer Misuse Act. One teenager was sentenced to three years in prison for connecting to his neighbor’s network without permission. So, if you’re too eager to post your latest travel selfie on your Instagram, find a secure network and use the password.

Answer for Can foreigners set up business in Singapore?

Yes, foreigners who are 18 years old and above can set up a business in Singapore, whether single proprietorship, a partnership, or a local company.

Sole Proprietorship

Tatinis Art Show

Following its successful transition into a global brand since its last fair in Sweden (2018), the Tatinis Art Show returns to its inceptive grounds in Singapore this year under the theme Hope; Peace; Love at the F1 Pit Building’s Paddock Club 6 from the 24th to the 26th of May, 2019.

In tandem with its mission to bring affordable art to every home, the upcoming art fair promises a constellation of over 500 local and international artworks from galleries and by individual artists, including several artists from Sweden and Finland.

Priced between SGD$100 and SGD$6000, the exhibition allows for equitable opportunities towards the purchase of artworks by art novices, seasoned collectors, and the general public to experience art at an approachable level.

Riding on the positive receptivity in its previous runs, the Tatinis Art Show has assimilated a staple of supporting activities that heighten the eclectic experiences for exhibitors and patrons alike.

The Fashion Meets Art segment slated for the first day (24th May) will feature a fashion show by Singapore Fashion Runway and their initiative of “Fashion for a Social Cause”.

The show focuses on social inclusion by encouraging special needs kids to be part of their runway presentation of wearable art, whereby paintings and other art forms are printed onto clothes and accessories as a fashion statement that redefines artistic disciplines.

The second day (25th May) brims with three complimentary activities catered for the kids. Through the Kids Art Party segment, children are able to partake in painting and theatre workshops conducted by vendors Little Artists Art Studio and local theatre company WeCanDoit.

Collective Minds presents Craig David

We’re thrilled to be bringing Craig David to Singapore on Valentine’s Day this year for his world famous TS5 party series!

— CRAIG DAVID —

It’s been 19 years since the critically acclaimed “Born To Do It” (which spawned the unforgettable Billboard Chart hits ‘7 Days’, ‘Fill Me In’, ‘Walking Away’) was at #1 all over the world. Still holding the record for being the fastest-selling debut album by a British male solo act and also having gone Platinum 6x, that would very well be the peak and prime for any other artist who would’ve even gone so far as to have achieved these accolades.

Contributing an integral piece to the soundtrack of many of our teenage/young adults years was just the beginning, though. Craig David refuses to rest on his laurels just yet.

His 2018 album merges his signature garage sound with various new elements, courtesy of the stellar roster of guest collaborators including grime artist AJ Tracey, Soulection-affiliated rapper Goldlink, and highly respected master producer Kaytranada.

Racking up an impressive 4.5 million in single sales and 290 million single streams in just the last year alone along with bringing his wildly popular DJ show TS5 (named after his Miami apartment Tower Suite 5) to massive sold-out dates headlining the Brixton Academy, prestigious Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, 12 week long residencies at the Ibiza Rocks Pool Party and all across the United States, he’s managed a feat few artists has ever done – surpassing themselves at their peak.

What started out as an intimate house party for select groups of his closest friends is now a global phenomenon, and we can’t think of a better way to spend Valentine’s Day than with us as we bring Craig David himself to you as he personally presents a very special edition of his world-renowned TS5.

Leave the big task to safe hands with any recommended handyman services [updated 2025] below, and you won’t be disappointed.

Key Factors to Choose the Best Handyman Services:

Licensing and Certification: Ensure the handyman is appropriately licensed and certified to perform the tasks required. Licensing ensures they meet professional standards and adhere to local regulations.

Experience and Expertise: Look for handymen with extensive knowledge and a diverse skill set. Experienced professionals are more likely to handle various tasks efficiently and effectively.

Reputation: Consider the handyman’s reputation. Look for positive reviews and testimonials from previous clients. We have selected top handyman services that consistently receive high ratings and positive feedback.

Range of Services: Check if the handyman offers a comprehensive range of services tailored to your needs, such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.

Quality of Work: Evaluate the quality of the handyman’s work. Look for examples of previous projects or ask for references to ensure they deliver high-quality results.

Pricing and Transparency: Compare pricing and ensure the handyman provides a transparent fee structure without hidden charges. Be cautious of significantly low rates, which may compromise the quality of service.

Availability and Responsiveness: Choose a handyman who can start your project promptly and is responsive to your needs and concerns. Timely and effective communication is crucial for a successful service experience.

Insurance and Liability: Verify that the handyman is adequately insured and bonded. This protects you in case of any damages or accidents during the work process.

Professionalism and Etiquette: Consider the handyman’s professionalism and demeanour. A courteous and respectful approach is essential for maintaining a positive working relationship.

Warranty and Guarantees: Look for handymen who offer warranties or guarantees on their work. This ensures they are committed to providing quality service and will address any issues that arise after the job is completed.

Safety Practices: Ensure the handyman follows strict safety protocols to protect themselves and your property during work.
